Representation
We safeguard the interest of our members and obtain from
relevant bodies fair and equitable treatment in relation to
conditions of tendering, bills of quantities, conditions of
contract, specification, supply of materials and in any other
way.
Collective Bargaining
We negotiate the minimum terms and conditions of service for employees in the construction industry through the National Joints Industrial Council (NJIC) with Junior and Senior Unions. This NJIC agreement is used as a reference point by the Government and other Stakeholders.
Advocacy
We provide early insight into impact of upcoming legislative
changes and advocate on behalf of our Members. We secure for
our Members the greatest possible freedom in the conduct of
their business.
Standards
We are the reference point for sustained excellence in the Nigeria Construction Industry. FOCI's interactions with Member companies have resulted in the maintenance of sound practices, respect for ethics and sustainability. We interact to share best practices that are good for business. FOCI renders advice, guidance and support to its Members on employment laws, employees relations and ILO-ratified Conventions, amongst others. FOCI continually strive to improve available skills in the industry through: (a) Murtala Rahmat Mohammed Scholarship Award for undergraduates in Building and Civil Engineering in Public University in Nigeria. (b) Upskilling and Re-skilling of Artisans in the Construction Industry.

FOCI publishes regularly the following Magazines to assist Members in their businesses. 1. Schedule of Daywork Carried Out Incidental to Contract Work (updated as need arises) 2. Construction Materials Price Index (quaterly publication) 3. National Joint Industrial Council (NJIC) Agreements on terms and conditions of service for all Junior employees. (reviewed biennially) 4. National Joint Industrial Council (NJIC) Argreement on terms and conditions of service for all Senior Employees (also reviewed biennially)
