Mission
To provide unique hand-on training on construction skills through Dual Technical and Vocational training to promote social equity, youth empowerment and sustainable development.
FOCI Skills Academy, FSA is a national
provider of vocational training for the construction industry
under the
National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF)
developed by the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE.
FSA is positioned to be the most innovative provider of
construction skills in Nigeria.
The academy was registered in 2019 by the Federation of Construction Industry, FOCI to address the following challenges:
- High rate of employment among the youth
- Shortage of skilled artisans for construction activities
- Limited access to skills development opportunities especially for women
- Large number of unskilled construction graduates
- The problem of skill-mismatch because of obsolete curriculum
Objectives
The objectives of FSA include but not limited to the followings:
- Training and certification of apprentices
- Upskilling of artisans and craftsmen
- Short term training of staff of construction companies
- Re-skilling of interested individuals.
- Training the Trainer
- Holiday exposures and practical exposures for secondary school students and undergraduates/graduates of tertiary institutions
- Specialized training and consultancy services

- One year Competency Based Dual Vocational training in Masonry works
- One year Competency Based Dual Vocational training in Carpentry & joinery.
- One year Competency Based Dual Vocational training in Plumbing& fittings.
- Six (6) months Competency Based Dual Vocational training in Masonry works.
- Six (6) months Competency Based Dual Vocational training in Carpentry & joinery works
- Six (6) months Competency Based Dual Vocational training in Plumbing& fittings works.
- Three (3) months Basic Masonry Training (Block work and bricks work)
- Three (3) months Basic Masonry works (Plastering, rendering, and finishing)
- Three (3) months Basic Masonry works (Concreting and stone works)
- Three (3) months Basic Carpentry works.
- Three (3) months Basic joinery works.
